Our History

The idea for our organization was conceived in February 1999, when six mothers of children with special needs, met to discuss the need for a support mechanism for themselves, their children and their families. Eventually, many other families also welcomed this idea and as a result they all came together and proceeded to formalize our organization.

In June 2000, our organization was incorporated as a non-profit charitable corporation and its members have been meeting on a monthly basis to discuss and create programs and services for persons with special needs and their families.

We believe that there are hundreds of persons with special needs of Hellenic heritage in Toronto and the surrounding areas that can benefit from this organization.

Currently we offer a variety of supports and services for individuals and their families whether they are of Greek origin or not.

Most members of our organization are parents of children with special needs, in the Greater Toronto Area.

There are also other community members of various professions and with varied expertise who have joined our organization because they believe in our cause and want to offer their assistance and support.
